Special: Collapse of France's Government
If France's left-wing New Popular Front coalition recieved a plurality of votes following President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron's surprise dissolution of the National Assembly, it would be an informal coalition of right-wing parties which would install Michel Barnier as Prime Minisiter.
As we discussed on the our podcast episode Election Special: Macron Chooses the Right, if this coalition was may have been a clever way for the President of the Republic to avoid appointing the left to power, it was a major risk for the far-right National Rally which would have to square its anti-establishment stance with a odvious collaboration with theat very establishment.

What does this mean for France and President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron's political project? Who stands to benefit -- the far-right or the leftist New Popular Front? What does it say about French democracy and the future of the Fifth Republic? Join us as we discuss these questions and more on our first "emergency episode" of the Royal Palace Podcast.
